Kit Garren, CPM®, MPM®

Kit received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah in 1982. As a native of the Southeast, he returned to the area upon graduation and began work in a family real estate development company in North Carolina. In 1986 he founded IPM Corp. with two partners in an effort to provide professional management services to the partner’s residential properties. Soon after the company was founded, a market niche was identified for residential management services and the company began offering fee management for third party owners. IPM specializes in single-family homes and homeowners associations. The current management portfolio includes high-end residential rentals and some of the nation’s most prestigious community associations.

Kit is Past President of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM). He is one of fewer than 100 individuals nationally to have been designated a Master Property Manager®. He also holds the Certified Property Manager® designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Kit is on the faculty of the National Association of Residential Property Managers, and teaches property management courses throughout the nation.

Kit was a founding director of the Home Management Network and served on its national board. He is active in the Institute of Real Estate Management as a member of the Western North Carolina Chapter and is a full member of Urban Land Institute. Kit also remains involved in the local community. A current member of Henderson County Board of Realtors, Kit has served as member and Chairman of the Transylvania County Planning Board, as Vice President of Transylvania County Homebuilders Association and as President of the Asheville Area Apartment Association. Kit has served on the Boards of the Hendersonville Rotary Club and The Hendersonville Boys and Girls Club, and is Past President of the Hendersonville University Club and past director of the Henderson County United Way. He currently serves on the Board of the Hendersonville Rescue Mission and has been actively involved in Young Life. In 1996 Kit was recognized by the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce as Small Business Leader of the Year.
